Terms of Use
Last updated: August 7, 2026
Plain terms for a simple app. By downloading or using Paradox, you agree to these.
1. The agreement
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Diego Sepúlveda, the developer of Paradox (the "app"). If you don't agree with them, don't use the app.
2. Your licence
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use Paradox on any Apple device that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not sell, rent, redistribute, reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
3. Your account
Paradox works without an account. If you create one, you are responsible for the sign-in provider you use to access it, and for anything done through it. You may close your account at any time — see Delete your account.
4. What Paradox is, and is not
Paradox is a tool for limiting your own use of apps on your own device. It is not a parental control service, a security product, a medical device, or treatment for any condition. It uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework, and its behaviour is bounded by what that framework and iOS allow. It can be switched off by anyone holding your unlocked phone, including you.
We do not promise the app will block every app in every circumstance, or that it will be available without interruption. Use your judgement: don't rely on Paradox for anything where a missed block would be dangerous.
5. Price and payments
Paradox is free to use, and the free tier is a real product rather than a trial. Some customisation and reporting features may be sold in the future. Any purchase or subscription would be processed by Apple through the App Store, governed by Apple's terms, cancellable in your Apple account settings, and clearly described before you pay. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us.
6. Content in the app
The written pieces in the Grow library, the artwork, the name and the Paradox mark belong to us and are provided for your personal use inside the app. Do not republish them elsewhere without permission.
7. Acceptable use
Don't use Paradox to break the law, to interfere with the service or its infrastructure, to access another person's account, or to restrict someone else's device without their knowledge and consent.
8. No warranty
The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that it will produce any particular result for your habits or your attention.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim — which, on the free tier, is nothing. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply to you only as far as the law allows.
10. Apple
- This agreement is between you and us, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price. Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim relating to the app, including product liability, legal compliance, or intellectual property claims.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and may enforce them against you.
11. Ending it
You can stop using Paradox at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken, or if we discontinue the service — in which case we will give reasonable notice in the app.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page always shows the current version, and continued use after a change means you accept it.
13. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Chile, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections you have where you live. Questions: support@tryparadox.app.
